I am Ashly Fusiarski, based in Richmond, North Yorkshire on the border of the Yorkshire Dales. I offer a variety of services tailored to your needs. Whether you're an individual, group or business, if you have a sense of adventure there should be something for you. From weekend breaks to overseas expeditions or if you're just getting started in outdoor activities and want to improve your skills with a workshop in rock-climbing or hill-walking.

Expedition to Peru confirmed.

20th November 2009

I'll be returning to Peru with a group of five in July 2010. This time to the south to explore some mountains!

Ski Guiding in Switzerland.

Over winter I'll be working in Switzerland, Ski Guiding in the Port du Solei resort. I'll still be taking bookings for summer adventures in 2010 from April onwards.

Return from India.

4th November 2009

Back safe after an exciting trip to the Indian Himalaya. Attempted Gangotri III standing at around 6500m but were forced back due to bad weather and equipment failure. Summited Rudragaira at 5843m instead. After spending 3 weeks in the mountains I then travelled to Pushkar in Rajasthan to enjoy the camel fair before returning home.

October Himalayan Trip.

5th September 2009

My first climbing trip to the Himalayas takes place next month after receiving an invitation from the Indian Mountaineering Foundation to their international climbing meet in October. It will be my second time to the region after a visit in 2005.

John Conville Alpine Course.

I happy to say I have been offered a place on the John Conville Alpine Training course in July. The John Conville Memorial Trust offers subsidised training for people wishing to venture into the Apline environment, providing essential skills allowing them to do so safely.

Today will be my first day volunteering for the Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team after being accepted to join as a probationary member. The post involves 12-18months of training before being invited to join as a full member available for call-outs. To read more or to make a donation click here.

Borneo Adventures.

A 21 day programme including 4x4 driving, SCUBA or Snorkelling, Jungle living, Orang-utan sanctuary visit and climbing Mt. Kinabalu is currently being devised by myself and Malcolm Jitam.

Fun in the Snow?

Yes it can be disruptive, but it can also be great fun and exciting bringing a whole new perspective to the hills. A recent trip to Pillar in the Lakes included a planned bivouac on the Mosedale ridge line, navigating in a white out and descending steep, snow covered slopes which all proved challenging and enjoyable. Don't be put off however this was just part of CPD (see Ethics & Vision).

'Krypton Factor' returns.

03/12/08

The classic TV show 'The Krypton Factor' returns to ITV1 in January 2009. Had a great week working with the production team through November as rope tech; rigging zip-lines, attaching cameras to the tops of trees and belaying contestants. see if you can spot me in the background!

Hong Kong & China.

Back to work after spending nearly two months in Hong Kong and China. A fantastic city of contrasts and a country offering superb climbing it was a great trip. Get in touch if you would like to join me on future trips.

Return from Peru.

Amazon Expedition.

21/05/08

Mid July 2008 I will be leading an expedition to the Peruvian Amazon as part of a conservation project to study and monitor Macaws and River Dolphins. We will paddle up the River Amazon in canoes which will be followed by Jungle trekking and survial training.

Just arrived back from a week of superb weather in the Cairngorms on a Mountain Leader training course. Putting Navigating skills to the test in the pitch black over featuresless ground & peat bogs... nice! Covered river crossings with a group, mountain weather, campcraft, more navigation and of course, my favourite, rope skills and security on steep ground.
